Why take voice lessons with Me?
Wow. Those kids are cute.
Ms. Moriak's students learn sound voice technique from day one. Ms. Moriak has dedicated her career to learning how to train beginning and young singers, and to help older, more accomplished singers hone their craft. Ms. Moriak's students can be heard singing in coffee shops, on the musical theatre stage, in our studio recitals, in college choruses, and as featured soloists in school and church choirs. Her students have been accepted into various college music degree programs. Ms. Moriak specializes in cross-training the voice, so that singers will understand how to sing in various styles in a sustainable way. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Music Education from Boston University (2004) and Master of Music Education with vocal music concentration from Westminster Choir Colllege in Princeton, NJ (2010).
Through continued education, including certification in Level 1 and Level 2 of Evidence-based Voice Pedagogy, 3 levels of Somatic Voicework (tm), webinars, seminars, and private voice study, Jodi Moriak strives to be the best teacher she can be, catering each lesson to each individual's learning style, interests, and ability. It is her goal to help every student to find his or her voice.
It is important to find a teacher who knows how to teach singing, as the voice is a fragile instrument that can be damaged through poor technique. Be sure that the voice teacher you choose has a wealth of teaching and singing experience. If you choose to study with me, you can be sure that your (or your child's) vocal health is a top priority. I absolutely love sharing the art of singing with my students. I am experienced teaching singing in the classical, musical theater, and pop singing styles. When it comes to teaching voice, experience and education matter.
